Sign of the Horns: medium-dark skin tone

sign of the horns with U+1F918 depicts a hand with the index and little finger raised while the middle and ring fingers are held down by the thumb. It is best known as a rock-and-metal gesture, used to say “rock on,” show approval, hype up a performance, or signal bold, rebellious energy. In everyday chats, it adds excitement to concert plans, sports wins, parties, gaming moments, and anything that feels loud, intense, or confidently cool. It can read as celebration, defiance, or playful swagger, especially beside music notes, guitars, fire, skulls, or sunglasses emoji. The gesture also has cultural meanings outside music, including warding off bad luck in some traditions and, in different contexts, an insulting “horns” sign connected to infidelity. Because of those regional readings, wording around it can change whether it feels friendly, edgy, ironic, or rude.
