Raised Back of Hand: medium-light skin tone

raised back of hand with U+1F91A represents an open hand shown palm-away, like someone holding up the back of their hand. It reads as a raised-hand gesture, but with a slightly different angle from the standard raised hand, so it can feel more like “stop,” “wait,” “I have something to say,” or “count me in.” In chats and social posts, people use it to volunteer, ask for attention, signal a pause, or answer a roll-call style question. It can also add attitude when used as a dismissive “talk to the hand” reaction, a playful boundary, or a mock-formal way to interrupt. It often appears with other hand emoji for emphasis, voting, greetings, or reaction chains. Skin tone variants are commonly used when someone wants the gesture to feel more personal or representative.
