Hand with Fingers Splayed: dark skin tone

hand with fingers splayed with U+1F590 depicts an open palm held forward with all five fingers spread apart. U+FE0F is the variation selector that requests the colorful emoji presentation, rather than a plain text-style symbol. People use it as a visual “stop,” “wait,” or “hold on,” especially when reacting to a surprising comment or asking someone to pause. It can also mean a raised hand for volunteering, getting attention, saying hello, giving a high five, or emphasizing “me” in a group chat. Its tone shifts with context: paired with a laughing face it can feel playfully dramatic, while next to warning signs or no-entry symbols it reads more firmly as a boundary. It is also used in counts and hand-themed combinations, though the separate raised hand emoji is more common for a simple wave or classroom-style answer.
