Video Game

Video Game at U+1F3AE is an emoji showing a game controller, used to mean video games, gaming, play, or game-related activities. It belongs to the Unicode Emoticons block and is grouped with activity emoji, so it is most often read as a symbol for digital entertainment rather than a specific console or device. In everyday messaging and social media, it marks that someone is playing, watching, streaming, or talking about games, as in “online tonight 🎮” or “new RPG weekend 🎮.” Gaming communities use it in profile bios, Discord server names, event posts, tournament announcements, and livestream titles to signal console, PC, or general gamer identity. It also appears in app interfaces, calendars, and promotional text for gaming nights, esports events, game stores, and entertainment categories. The exact controller design varies by platform, so it should not be relied on to identify a particular brand or button layout.
